The Center for Black Music

" Imagined in the middle of a city both regional and cosmopolitan, inseparable from the African cultural heritage, the Center for Black Music in Salvador will be a pioneer space devoted to the memory and the thought of cultures that are in a constant renew, in the heart of a city born with the huge contribution of Mother Africa and remaining perhaps its most prodigal daughter!

The CMN intends encouraging an immersion in a universe diversified in time and geography. He proposes to explore the various nuances of rhythms and songs.

Through the Black music always resounds the echo with an extraordinary victory gained by a diaspora over the subjugation and the suffering.

To quote Gilberto Freyre, we would be sad and lukewarm without the contribution of the black culture and Salvador is the best expression of this energy, this magic and this savour! "
